Use of YouTube API Services
The Transitions DJ web app uses YouTube API Services to provide YouTube playlist access, YouTube video search, and YouTube video playback. By using YouTube features in Transitions DJ, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. For more information on Google’s privacy practices, please visit the Google Privacy Policy.
YouTube Data Access, Collection, and Use
YouTube is available only in the Transitions DJ web app. When you connect YouTube to Transitions DJ, the app requests the read-only YouTube authorization scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly. Transitions DJ does not request, collect, or store your YouTube or Google password.
When you use YouTube features, Transitions DJ may access, collect, store, or otherwise use the following YouTube API Data and related user information:
- OAuth authorization data, including an access token, refresh token, token expiration time, and authorization state value used to connect your Google account to Transitions DJ.
- The list of YouTube playlists available to the authorized account, including playlist IDs and playlist titles.
- The YouTube playlist IDs that you select for use in Transitions DJ.
- Playlist item and video metadata for selected playlists, including video IDs, video titles, channel or video owner names, descriptions, publish dates, thumbnail URLs, YouTube watch links, and YouTube embed links.
- YouTube search queries that you enter in Transitions DJ and the YouTube search result metadata returned for those queries, including video IDs, titles, channel names, descriptions, publish dates, thumbnails, watch links, and embed links.
- Information needed to play YouTube videos through the YouTube embedded player, including the YouTube video ID and playback-related data processed by YouTube through that player.
Transitions DJ uses this information only to provide YouTube features that you request: authorizing access to your YouTube account, showing your YouTube playlists, saving your selected playlist list, loading videos from selected playlists, searching YouTube videos, showing YouTube video metadata in the app, opening YouTube links, and playing videos with the YouTube embedded player. Transitions DJ does not sell YouTube API Data and does not use YouTube API Data for AI training.
Storage of YouTube Data
The Transitions DJ web app stores the YouTube refresh token and the YouTube playlist IDs you select in browser-managed app storage so it can reconnect to YouTube and reload the playlists you selected. Transitions DJ stores YouTube video metadata from selected playlists in the saved local Transitions DJ library for up to 30 calendar days so previously loaded YouTube videos can remain available when YouTube API quota or connectivity prevents playlist loading. Transitions DJ refreshes that stored metadata when YouTube API access is available and deletes stored YouTube video metadata that has not been refreshed within 30 calendar days. YouTube search results are temporary and are not saved to the local library.
Sharing of YouTube Data
Transitions DJ shares YouTube-related requests with Google and YouTube as needed to provide YouTube API Services and playback. When Transitions DJ displays YouTube thumbnails through its thumbnail service, that service receives the requested YouTube video ID and retrieves the thumbnail from YouTube. The YouTube embedded player may collect and share information with YouTube as described by Google’s Privacy Policy and the YouTube API Services terms.
Retention and Deletion of YouTube Data
You can remove locally stored YouTube authorization, selected playlist information, and cached YouTube video metadata by removing the YouTube source from Transitions DJ or clearing the web app’s browser storage for the Transitions DJ site. Deleting data stored by Transitions DJ does not delete data stored by YouTube. To delete data from YouTube, you must use YouTube or another authorized YouTube client that supports deleting that data.
Revoking Access
You can revoke Transitions DJ’s access to your YouTube data at any time by visiting the Google security settings page. Locate Transitions DJ in the list of authorized apps and select “Remove Access” to revoke permissions.
